The Wealth Planners we recruit combine a strong command of civil and tax law, an in-depth understanding of wealth-holding structures (family holding companies, French civil property companies, split ownership structures, fiduciary arrangements and Anglo-Saxon trusts), practical experience with wealth transfer solutions (gifts, Dutreil agreements, life insurance and capitalisation contracts), and the ability to engage as an equal with the client's external advisers, including notaries, tax lawyers and accountants.
A dual legal and tax background is increasingly expected, often complemented by a DJCE, a Master's degree in wealth management or a professional wealth planning qualification recognised by the industry.
Wealth Planning & Specialist Expertise Recruitment
Wealth planning is the function that transforms client relationships into sustainable added value and differentiates a private bank from a simple asset manager. It draws on legal, tax and corporate structuring expertise that few candidates master at the level expected by HNWI and UHNWI clients. Haussmann Executive Search continuously maps these highly specialised talent pools across private banks, family offices, tax law firms, specialist notarial practices and accounting firms focused on business owners.
Wealth Planner: A Rare Profile
Specialists in Highly Focused Areas of Expertise
Two areas account for most of the hardest-to-fill positions.
International tax, covering expatriate and impatriate clients, French-speaking corridors (Belgium, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Monaco and Israel), and clients with tax residency across multiple jurisdictions.
Business succession and corporate structuring, covering business disposals, active holding companies, Dutreil agreements and the governance of complex family holding structures.
Strategic philanthropy, the structuring of endowment funds and family governance (family constitutions, family protocols and governance of family holding structures) are adjacent areas of expertise increasingly sought after by France's wealthiest families.
